PRP gets Rail Engine Symbol

Prajarajyam Party (PRP) atlast gets a common symbol, rail engine symbol, for its candidates to contest in the 2009 Assembly Elections and Loksabha Elections. The Supreme Court on Friday directed the Election Commission to give the Praja Rajyam Party (PRP) a common symbol for the forthcoming elections. The PRP will get the rail engine symbol that it opted for.

The MDMK (Desiya Murpu Dravida Kazhagam) of Vijayakanth in Tamil Nadu got the nagara (drum) and the Lok Satta the whistle. The apex court brushed aside objections of the Election Commission that allotting symbols after the election had been notified would be difficult.

Chiranjeevi, who was informed about the order during a campaign stop at Peddapuram in East Godavari district, said, “We believe in God and the judicial system.” Read the rest of this entry »

PRP Announced Candidates for Assembly elections 2009

Chiranjeevi’s Praja Rajyam Party (PRP) unofficially announced candidates list for 2009 Assembly and Loksabha elections.

Some highlights of the announcement (unofficial) are:

  • PRP President Chiranjeevi will contest from Tirupati. He also said he contests from three different places.
  • PRP Party spokesperson Mitra will contest from Nellore Assembly segment.
  • S.T candidate Munemma will contest from some general seat in Nellore district

According to the sources of Prajarajyam Party sources, PRP will contest from 294 Assembly seats and 42 Loksabha seats.
