Is Posani Krishna Murali contesting for PRP?

Some rumours are doing rounds recently that the director Posani Krishna Murali may be the Praja Rajyam Party’s choice for Guntur Assembly constituency. According to sources, Praja Rajyam Party is very much interested on considering him to make contest from Guntur in the coming 2009 assembly elections.
Posani Krishna Murali already said that he would not be contesting the elections, but who knows??. Insiders say that Posani Krishna Murali would be PRP’s candidate from Guntur for sure.

Chiranjeevi is Contesting from Tirupati

Chiranjeevi, Praja Rajyam Party Supremo, disclosed that he was keen to contest from Tirupathi and his hometown Narsapuram. He previously said that he is willing to contest from two constituencies just like late Sri NT Rama Rao.
Praja Rajyam Party is still struggling to find right candidates for various constituencies. Chiranjeevi says that they are still evaluating suitable candidates keeping in mind his promise of Social Justice and he don’t want to take wrong people in a rush.

AP Assembly and Loksabha Elections 2009 Schedule

AP Assembly and Loksabha Elections 2009 Schedule has been announced Election commission on Monday.

2009 Assembly elections will be held in Andhra Pradesh to all 294 seats on April 16 and April 23.  On the same dates 42 Lok Sabha seats in the state will also go to the polls. Assembly elections will also be conducted along with Loksabha in Orissa and Sikkim aslo.

On 16th April 2009,  all the 22 Lok Sabha constituencies in  North Andhra and Telangana,  along with their State Assembly segments will go to the polls. The remaining 20 loksabha (parliament) seats and their Assembly segments will go to elections on April 23.

Counting will be conducted throughout India on May 16.

Loksatta announces candidates for 2009 Assembly elections

Loksatta Party announced first list of 36 candidates for 2009 Andhra pradesh Assembly elections. Loksatta President Dr Jayaprakash Narayan (JP) announced candidates for 15 seats in Telangana, 17 seats in Coastal Andhra and 4 seats in Rayalaseema region. According to rumours, JP will contest from Kukatpally constituency in Hyderabad city where educated migrants will decide candidate fortunes.

Loksatta will go to polls without any alliance. Loksatta will allot 100 seats for weaker sections to empower them. Loksatta will contest from all the 294 Assembly seats in the 2009 Assembly polls. Loksatta gave importance to education and activity in deciding candidates. Loksatta is the first major party after BJP that announced candidates for the next general elections which will be held in April-May, 2009.
