Assembly Constituencies in Chittor Dist for 2009 Assembly Elections:
The Central Election Committee of the Bharatiya Janata Party today finalized the names of 57 candidates for the Andhra Pradesh Assembly polls.
Following are the name of constituencies and candidates:
Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy’s camp was disappointed as Congress president, Mrs Sonia Gandhi, has overlooked the Chief Minister’s objections while selecting candidates from the Lok Sabha seats for Andhra Pradesh.
It is reliably learnt that Sonia Gandhi turned down the candidate list that Dr Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy submitted to her. Dr Reddy secured approval for these names from the screening committee headed by the Mr Pranab Mukherjee.
Dr Rajasekhar Reddy had proposed fielding the Union minister of state, Ms D. Purandareswari, from Guntur, displacing the sitting MP, Mr Rayapati Sambasiva Rao. He wanted Mr T. Subbarami Reddy, Rajya Sabha member, to contest from Visakhapatnam.
But the Congress CEC, headed by Mrs Sonia Gandhi, decided at the very first instance to not field Rajya Sabha members for the election. With this, Ms Purandareswari is being fielded from Visakhapatnam and Mr Sambasiva Rao gets renomination from Guntur.
We finally got a clear picture about seat sharing agreement among “Mahakootami” parties. According to Eenadu daily, TDP will contest in 213 Assembly seats while TRS will contest in 45 assembly seats and 9 Loksabha segments in 2009 polls.
CPI and CPM will contest in 18 seats each. Left parties will contest in 20 Telangana Assembly segments and 16 segments in Andhra and Rayalaseema. CPI and CPM will contest in 2 Loksabha seats each.
CPM will contest in:
Palair, Madhira, Bhadrachalam, Nakrekal, Huzurnagar, Ibrahimpatnam, Warangal East, Uppal, Palakonda, Kurupam, Vijayawada Central, Sattenapalle, Santhanuthalapadu, Nellore Rural and Kurnool. Party will contest in another 5 seats.
CPI will contest in:
Kothagudem, Pinapaka, Wyra, Munugode, Devarakonda, Bellampalle, Husnabad, Yakutpura/Chandrayangutta, Paderu, Salur, Vijayawada (West), Vinukonda, Kondapi and Alur.
CPI/CPM will contest in 4 Loksabha constituencies:
Araku/Bhongir, Nalgonda, Khammam and Mahabubabad.
